InterGlobe Hotels is a technical and financial joint venture with Accor Asia Pacific, established with a charter to develop a series of ‘Ibis' brand economy hotels across India and South Asia . Headquartered in Gurgaon, abutting New Delhi , InterGlobe Hotels plans to develop a minimum of twenty five Ibis Hotelsover the next twelve years.

The Ibis Hotel development plan by InterGlobe Hotels represents one of the most significant financial commitments ever made to the mid-market hotel sector in India by any Indian Corporate entity and is certainly the largest financial commitment made by any international hotel chain to pan-India venture.

The absence of accommodation of International standards at a value price has also been cited as a key lacuna in India 's tourism product. InterGlobe Hotel's vision for the venture is that Ibis hotels in the region will come to redefine the economy hotel sector in India and soon be preferred as the ‘best value international hotels' across the region.

Developing activity for Ibis Hotels is already underway in Bangalore and Gurgaon. Together these hotels will have 600 rooms. Target cities for immediate future development are Mumbai, the National Capital Region, Chennai and Hyderabad . A site is under active negotiation at Pune while another site has been secured at Jaipur and the market is currently being evaluated. Accor, together with InterGlobe Enterprises, is pursuing management opportunities in the subcontinent for its other brands Sofitel, Novotel and Mercure.
